Well before Nike introduced the Dunk Low Disrupt 2, they were celebrating the universities in their legions, such as Michigan, Syracuse, and St. Johns. Kentucky, too, had their very own colorway, and it’s since appeared atop many a subsequent release. The blue-dominant palette is even dressing the redesigned model mentioned above, effectively reimagining its original “BTTYS” style. As is typical of the Disrupt, the upper is visually busy without losing the feel of the classic Dunk Low. This, while most evident in the shape, can also be seen via the overlays, whose suede panels retain the general shape of the original. The materials, however, are not quite as similar, and the adherence to the “Kentucky” effectively ends with the blue-on-white colorway. Details such as the embroidered, UNC-colored Swoosh and speckled, part-recycled sole only set this pair further apart from the Wildcats.
