Throughout last year, it seemed every brand was making use of GORE-TEX in some way. But Nike’s relationship with the innovation spans much further back, as the brand often applied it to the Air Force 1’s construction. 2021 saw the fabric’s most notable appearance atop the Air Jordan 1, however, and the newly waterproofed model went on to release two noteworthy colorways: “Light Bone” and “Particle Grey.”
Due likely in part to its positive reception, the Air Jordan 1 Element GORE-TEX is returning for 2022, doing so in a much louder “Light Curry” make-up. The orange pantone is used for the treated leather overlays as well as the stitching, while simultaneously acting as the base for the blotted outsole. Elsewhere, white highlights the ripstop across the side and forefoot, tonally balancing out the silver reflective branding and the black lace unit/collar adjacent.
