While much attention has already been paid to handfuls of Fall 2022 Air Jordan releases, NIKE, Inc. is on a mission to conjure up excitement for its summer collection. A newly-surfaced Air Jordan 1 Mid clad in an off-white and indigo colorway is arguably the company’s latest attempt of doing just that.
Reminiscent of some options under the Nike Sportswear banner, the upcoming sneakers indulge in a “Coconut Milk”-like tone across most of its upper, which features a mix of suede, tumbled leather, and canvas materials. No party involved has disclosed whether or not the refreshing arrangement is part of an expansive spring or summer-ready collection, but the mid-top Jordan 1‘s use of non-standard fabrics, experimental dyeing at the laces and collar, and semi-recycled rubber outsoles could lend itself to a number of other products from the North American institution. “Wings” emblems on the lateral ankle flap also partake in the shoes’ indigo flair, helping inject more fashionable design cues to the 1985-silhouette.
