When it was unveiled last year, it seemed the New Balance XC-72 was poised to usurp the 327. Similar to the latter, the silhouette was introduced by way of a CASABLANCA collaboration, and its subsequent GR colorways were of equal quality. Despite this, the year that followed was rather slow; but that might not be the case for 2022, as we already have a couple exciting releases on the way.
One of the newest additions to the calendar, this forthcoming “Enhanced Legacy Pack” effectively casts a vintage light on the XC-72. Though distinct in their choice of palette, the range’s three options make use of the same tooling, which features a gum bottom and greyed out midsole. The suede and leathers above, however, are built in a much bolder fashion. Hits of an indigo blue and red dress one pair; deep burgundy and dark blue outfit the next; and, finally, black and cream round out the trio.
For a detailed look at the entire collection, check out the official images below. Currently, these are slated to hit select retailers and likely NewBalance.com later this February.
Elsewhere in sneakers, the Air Jordan 5 Racer Blue releases this Saturday.
